| A varnished finish over beautiful solid hardwood on both the exterior and the
interior of this case make this beauty a showpiece as much as a poker chip case.
This 620-chip capacity case features a two-story configuration. The upper removable
chip tray holds 360 chips in six rows of 60 chips each, which when removed reveals
a lower level housing another 280 chips in four rows of 65 chips each plus an
additional storage space purposefully design to house a double-deck of KEM playing
cards as well as other gaming accessories.
The wood is hand selected grade-A kiln-dried hardwood, which provides both
beauty and strength. In contrast to similar looking foreign made cases that
use wood veneers over another substrate, a solid hardwood case is built to age
gracefully similar to an antique – as opposed to quickly deteriorating
like cheap department store furniture.
After final prep sanding, a natural stain is applied to bring out the woods
natural beauty. A vinyl sealer is then applied, sanded and repeated for two
to three coats. The final stage is two coats of UV protected satin lacquer for
a durable life long finish.
The interior of the case has suede accent pieces inside the lid and in the
card storage area. The chip trays and interior wood are finished with the same
process and quality finish as the outside of the case.
A distinguishing difference between a cheaply constructed Chinese case and
a US-made solid hardwood case has to do with the quality of the hardware. The
Heirloom 620 features strong solid brass handles and quadrant hinges, along
with an elegant, full mortised solid brass lock that combined add style, strength,
and security. The case also includes a solid brass key with tassel, which will
help keep your chips from wandering off.
This case is available in oak at the stated price, and in walnut, cherry and
figured maple for an additional $50.
NOTE: Clay poker chips sold separately. |
