Poker Chip Sizes

The standard size for casino chips is 39mm in diameter. As all of our high-end chip lines are authentic casino chips (made by the same manufacturers as the casinos), this is the size of our Protege Clay line, Archetype line, and Paulson Noir Clay line. Aside from the general authenticity of having a 39mm chip, this 39mm size is important when trying to fit chips into authentic casino chip racks.

Although there is no official standard, the vast majority of low-end chips (most of which are produced in China) are 40mm in diameter. Not sure why they made them a different size, but they did and so now that seems to be the unofficial standard for low-end chips. 1mm is hardly noticeable from looking at them, but the biggest complaint we have heard is that the chips don’t fit well into casino chip racks. Additionally, low-end chips are sometimes thicker than authentic casino chips, and often times will only fit 19 across per row in chip racks intended for 20 authentic casino chips. As such, only 95 will fit per rack.
